Dr. Enrique G. Baking, University President, welcomes the 32 accreditors from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines during the Opening Program held on August 6, 2019 at the University Auditorium.

 

             Consistent with its continuous pursuit of quality education, the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) submitted 12 degree programs for accreditation by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) on August 6-8, 2019. A total of 33 accreditors who come from various state universities and colleges in the country and all representing AACCUP arrived at DHVSU on August 5, 2019. This is the biggest delegation from AACCUP to have visited DHVSU to date. Spearheading the delegation was Dr. Eligio B. Sacayanan from the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University. Dr. Enrique G. Baking, DHVSU President, welcomed the accreditors during the opening program held on August 6, 2019 at the University Auditorium. In his speech, Dr. Baking likewise underscored that the success of accreditation endeavors lies in the “collective effort” of every member of the DHVSU community.   

            The AACCUP team evaluated eight programs for Level II accreditation and four programs for Level I accreditation. Among the programs for Level II accreditation are the following: Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Doctor of Education major in Educational Management, Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management and Master in Public Administration. Meanwhile, the following programs have been applied for Level I accreditation: Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Business Economics and Master of Business Administration.

            All 12 programs were assessed across ten key areas namely: (1) vision, mission, goals and objectives; (2) faculty; (3) curriculum and instruction; (4) support to students; (5) research; (6) extension and community involvement; (7) library; (8) physical plant and facilities; (9) laboratories; and, (10) administration.   

            During the closing program held on August 8, 2019, Dr. Sacayanan expressed that the presence of President Baking all throughout the duration of the accreditation visit, the hospitality of the DHVSU community, and the legendary and tasty Capampangan food were all commendable. He added that the results of the accreditation shall be released two months after the survey visit.
