The Don Honorio Ventura State University bagged the coveted championship spot in the 25th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Regional Championship held at the Holy Angel University in Angeles City on November 12, 2019.

Timothy D. Paulino, a first year Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering student, represented the University and emerged as top victor in the said competition, besting 30 other representatives from higher education institutions in Region III. Coached by Prof. Dynah D. Soriano, a faculty member of the University and a Humanities, Education, Management and Social Sciences Research Center manager of the DHVSU Research and Development Services Office, Paulino will represent the region in the national championship on November 29.

The PSQ is an annual competition for first year college students across the country’s 17 regions and is designed to test knowledge in statistics. It is organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Philippine Statistical Association, Incorporated (PSAI).
