The Don Honorio Ventura State University held its annual Intramurals on January 15-17, 2020, with the theme “Sportsmanship: Key to Academic and Professional Excellence.”

After being re-scheduled three times due to various reasons, the Intramurals proved a success due to the ardent participation of Honorians from different colleges and extension campuses. Fourteen teams vied for top spots in a total of 16 events, divided into male and female categories, including athletics, arnis, badminton, basketball, chess, futsal, sepak takraw, table tennis, and volleyball. Athletics events included runs and relays of varying meters, as well as shot put, javelin throw, long jump, discus throw, and triple jump.

The College of Engineering and Architecture emerged as champion with a total of 67 medals, followed by the College of Business Studies with 49 medals, and the Mexico Extension Campus with 41 medals.

This year, Keith Ann Santos, a gold medalist in last year’s State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association competition, kindled the fire in the Urn of Unity.

Meanwhile, Arjay Aguilar and Krisha Nella of the College of Business Studies were crowned Mister and Miss Intramurals 2019 in a pageant held at the University Gymnasium on January 15.
