DHVSU, thru the Office of Sports Development (OSD), has always participated in local, regional and national competitions and sporting events. With the support of the administration, state of the art and international facilities have been provided like the Multipurpose Gymnasium, FIBA Wooden Floor, Athletes' Dug-out, Olympic Size Swimming Pool, 2-storey Fitness Center, and additional Covered Court Facility.

Prior to the pandemic, DHVSU dominated the basketball team in Pampanga and Central Luzon. The Collegiate Men's basketball Team was held Champion in the Universities and Colleges Athletic Association of Pampanga (UCAAP) Basketball League, Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) - Northern Division, and the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA) III Regional Competition. The women's basketball team also won the SCUAA III Regional Competition. In addition, the State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association of the Region (SCUFAR) below 40 and above men’s basketball unit of DHVSU were both hailed "Regional Champions".

VISION
The Office of Sports Development envisions itself as the producer of athletes in the region.

MISSION
The Office of Sports Development spearheads the University's sports and wellness efforts through sports trainings, competitions and programs.

OBJECTIVES

  • To provide a venue of state of the art, profession grade sports equipment and facilities for the DHVSU community.
  • To establish a year round training program for our athletes.
  • To recruit quality training team and varsity players.
  • To broaden the experiences of the Honorian Athlete by competing in local, regional and national sporting events.
  • To encourage a healthy lifestyle for our students, faculty and personnel.
  • To extend services such as trainings and use of faculties to partner agencies and other stakeholders.
  • To promote a Gender Equal opportunity for our students to excel in sports.
