Overview

The University Learning Resource Center (ULRC) is located at the DHVSU Main Campus in Cabambangan, Bacolor, Pampanga, catering to the students and employees, both teaching and non-teaching, of the different colleges and departments of the University and its extension campuses. It also serves researchers from other institutions provided they bring along referral letters from their respective deans/librarians.

With Mt. Pinatubo’s eruption in 1991, the lahar and mudflow that swept the whole town until 1995 left Bacolor in total disarray. Buildings in DHVSU, including the URLC, shop machineries, tools and the like, were not spared from the wrath of the volcano.

With God’s blessings and the support of generous private individuals, members of the DHVSU family and the town people, the University was able to start anew, undergoing several phases of rehabilitation to become what the past and the present administrations aspire the University to be—a Center of Excellence and, ultimately, a premier state university in the region.

GOAL

            To provide clients with a well-rounded and functional collection and socially-oriented services.

 OBJECTIVES

1. To develop a good collection of books, periodicals, documents, etc.
2. To provide services to meet the instructional needs of the different programs of the University.
3. To encourage students to develop lifelong values of good reading, study and research.
4. To be an intellectual resource of the academic community.
5. To supply information and research services primarily to students, faculty and administrative staff.

GENERAL POLICES (4th revision)

1. All students, teaching and non-teaching personnel using the University Learning
Resource Center shall strictly adhere to its rules and regulations.

2. The users shall be allowed to enter the library from Monday to Friday from 7:30 to
5:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 to 5:00 p.m. with no noon break.

3. Library Card Application:

3.1. Students – the application and processing of library card is currently ON
HOLD due to the adjustments made for the new normal. Opening of application will be
announced on the official FB Page of the University Learning Resource Center.

3.2. Faculty and Non-Teaching Personnel – to apply for your library card, visit the
ULRC building and bring two (2) of your most recent 1x1 picture. Once library card is
processed and released, make sure to have it with you whenever you would like to
borrow or return library materials to keep our records updated.

4. Borrowing of general references (encyclopedias, dictionaries, indexes, yearbooks,
atlases), serial and periodicals (newspapers, magazines and journals) and thesis and
dissertation are For Room Use Only.

5. Borrowing of materials to take home is still not allowed for the students. Materials can
be browsed at the Reading Area of University Learning Resource Center.

6. Users who are caught vandalizing library materials (books, magazines, newspapers,
etc.) and furniture and fixtures shall be given disciplinary sanctions to be forwarded to
their respective Principal/Dean/Campus Director/Designated Prefect of Discipline.

7. Silence must be observed at all times. Eating, drinking, sleeping, loitering and
smoking are strictly prohibited.
