DHVSU ADVISORY NO. 11

The Don Honorio Ventura State University remains steadfast amid the global pandemic. Proper measures were undertaken to prevent any possible further transmission of the virus in retaliation to the reported case of an employee who has tested positive for COVID-19.

1. On the onset of the pandemic, the University has put into place in-house preventive measures to mitigate the possible spread of the virus. These include daily sanitation, weekly disinfection scheduled every Monday of the month, rolling out of both online and offline health status survey, thermal scanning of every person prior to entrance to the University premises, provision of a log book to monitor guest entering in, health declaration forms filled out by all visitors coming in to do business, provision of washers throughout the University premises, hand sanitizers in all strategic areas, footbath at all entrance points of offices and buildings, visual alerts, a triage area attended by trained personnel, alternative work arrangements for employees, strict implementation of "no face mask and face shield, no entry policy", observance of 1-meter physical distancing, and a continuous upgrading of these policies as the need arises.

2. Guided by health protocols issued by competent government agencies, the University responded to the incident of an employee who has tested positive for Covid-19 virus. All close contacts were RT-PCR tested. All personnel who had direct and indirect contact are instructed to observe home quarantine and isolation. A daily monitoring scheme was also put into place by the Medical Team of the University to all concerned employees. Contact tracing is likewise being undertaken in partnership with the local IATF.

3. A two-phase University-wide sanitation and disinfection was carried out. The first phase was through the Office of the General Services of the University and the second phase was completed through the partnership of the University with the Local Government Unit of Bacolor.

4. To date, the employee who has tested positive for COVID-19 virus is exhibiting signs of speedy recovery. The University shall continue to enforce strict health standards and protocols to safeguard the well-being of all its stakeholders and the community. DHVSU ensures all efforts are exhausted in order to address challenges brought about by the global pandemic.
