TSO officially opens Global Grant Skills Training 2024
The Global Grant Skills Training in Bread and Pastry Production, Cookery, and Food Processing of the Rotary Club of Hwasung Taean and Rotary Club of Villa de Bacolor in partnership with the Training Services Office (TSO) officially launched last March 16, 2024 at the University Hostel.
The pre-registered participants, along with the trainers, are given an orientation specifying the run- through of the four-month-long training program.

The Rotary Club of Villa de Bacolor and Rotary Club of Hwasung Taean, South Korea, in collaboration with the Training Services Office of Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), held a turnover ceremony for equipment and machinery at the New Assessment Center on March 12, 2024.
The equipment and machinery are intended for use in the Global Grant Skills Training in bread and pastry production, cookery, and food processing.
The training program is scheduled to take place from March to June 2024 at the New Assessment Center Building of DHVSU.

DHVSU partners with CDA for enhanced cooperative training
Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) has entered into a three-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) to strengthen partnerships for the improvement of cooperative education and training in the Philippines. The MOA signing ceremony was held at Café Honorio on the DHVSU Main Extension lot on December 5.
Through this collaboration, DHVSU and CDA acknowledge the role of higher education institutions in advancing cooperative development, in line with Republic Act 11364 and other relevant legislation. DHVSU having pool of experts will deliver cooperative curriculum for the Training of Trainers (TOT) where CDA will lead the initiation of the development of Standard Course Outline to be utilized by theTraining Services Office (TSO) of DHVSU for prospective applicants and trainers of Accredited Cooperative Training Providers.
DHVSU was represented by Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research Innovation, Training, and Extension; Mr. Jose Joseph Soriano and Ms. Mharee Joie Shynne Gomez, both faculty from College of Business Studies; Ms. Aileen de Leon, Center Manager of Professional Advancement Center; Ms. Jennifer Baluyut, Center Manager of Skills Capability Enhancement; Dr. Anabelle Hernandez, Assessment Manager; and Atty. David Robert Aquino, Dean of School of Law.
Meanwhile, CDA was represented by Marieta P. Hwang, Regional Director; Carolina M. Miguel - Assistant Regional Director; Jenalyn D. Ferrer - Acting Chief, Cooperative Research, Information and Training Section; Karen Krystel F. Ysais - Cooperatives Development Specialist II, and Cresencio Pilao, Jr. - Provincial Cooperative Development Specialist, Pampanga Province.
“When the opportunity was discussed to us before, immediately po si President [Dr. Enrique Baking] pina-submit niya sa board ang proposal para aprubahan ang ating engagements sa CDA. Dahil kami po naniniwala bilang isang state university, na dapat kung ano ang expertise na mayroon ng university through the faculty and its programs, it has to be felt by the community. We believe that the partnership with CDA is one of the many ways that we can share what we have in the university,” VP- RITE Canlas stated in his message to the participants.

DSWD launches journal of social welfare R&D, collabs with DHVSU
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 3 celebrated the grand launching of the very first issues of the Central Luzon Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (CL SWDL-Net) Philippine Journal of Social Welfare and Research Development (PhilsJSWRD) at the Greene Manor Condotel, City of San Fernando, Pampanga last November 29.
Dr. Dynah Soriano, Managing Editor of the CL SWDL-Net Editorial Board and DHVSU’s Training Services Office Director, expressed gratitude for the project, born out of the passion and commitment of contributors, researchers, the editorial team, and peer reviewers who trusted the PhilsJSWRD. “Our goal is to make sure that our readers are given research-based insights to current social issues and data driven recommended solutions to each one. This is the first of the many journals that you can expect from us,” Soriano stated in her editor’s note.
Dr. Soriano, along with Aileen De Leon and Grace Sandico, both instructors at DHVSU, was also part of the editorial team.
The program was attended by key individuals from DSWD Field Office 3 and CL SWDL-Net, including Maribel M. Blanco, Assistant Regional Director for Administration; Dr. Elena C. Tesoro, Overall Chairperson, Central Luzon SWD Learning Network; Ronnel T. Golimlim, Overall Vice-Chairperson, Central Luzon SWD Learning Network; Melanie P. Tolentino of Central Luzon State University; Dr. Emmanuel Bagtas, Assistant Managing Editor of CL SWDL-Net Editorial Board; Dr. Adrian Bon B. The event included the presentation of authors, featuring research from various universities, including Don
Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU).

DA Central Luzon to feature RODVF, a Project LAKBAY beneficiary
R.O. Valerio Dairy Farm (ROVDF), a beneficiary of the ongoing Lilinangin Angking Lupain at Bukid Kalikasan ng Bayan ng Bacolor Angat at Yayaman (LAKBAY) project by the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) - Training Services Office (TSO) in collaboration with the Villa de Bacolor Farm Tourism Association (VBFTA), is set to be featured on AgriTV Central Luzon’s Ani at Kita sa Agrikultura segment, courtesy of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon.
Located in Sitio Gugu, San Vicente Bacolor, Pampanga, ROVDF promotes goat farming, farm-to-table food offerings, and traditional 'bahay kubo' experiences.
During the video shoot conducted on November 21, Randy Valerio, the farm's owner, recognized the significant contributions of DHVSU in the development and endeavors of RODVF.
“Malaki ang tulong ng DHVSU sa amin. Tulad ngayon katulong namin sila sa product development para sa pag-conceptualize ng farm-to-table salad at coffee with goat milk na gusto naming gawin,” Valerio
said.
The shoot focused on the development and concepts of Valerio’s salad and Valerio’s coffee, products proposed by the College of Hospitality Management (CHTM) and DHVSU Lubao Campus instructors. They are Mike Haizon M David, Ilyn M. Mendoza (CHTM Training Coordinator), Alfer S. Sanchez, Glenn N Abutan Jr., Isaac S. Ronquillo (DLC Training Coordinator), Riches S. Dizon, and Marie Katherine S. David.
Initiated in May 2023, Project LAKBAY was originally designed with the specific goal of developing the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of the VBFTA members.
“Sa pagtatapos ng unang training, nakita namin [VBFTA at DHVSU] na may iba pang pangangailangan ang mga farm owners sa Bacolor katulad ng sa kung paano nila lilinangin at pagyayamanin ang kanilang mga produkto. Through Project LAKBAY, binibigyan namin sila ng training para sa modern trends in farm development in cooperation with the Extension Services and Management Office of DHVSU” Dr. Dynah Soriano, TSO director stated in an interview.
The upcoming feature, scheduled for official screening in December 2023 on CLTV36 and DA Central Luzon’s YouTube account, emphasizes ROVDF’s innovative practices and how DHVSU contributed to their accomplishments.

CHTM partners with DLC for a 3-year extension, training program
The College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) joined forces with Don Honorio Ventura State University – Lubao Campus (DLC) for training programs titled Training on Hospitality, Opportunities and Understanding Gender Sensitivity with Holistic Target Synergy (THOUGHTS); Transformative, Hospitality, Research, Inclusivity, Values and Education (THRIVE); and Dynamic Learning for Change, Empowering Minds, Transforming Lives.
The initiatives are set to benefit learners from different municipalities of Pampanga which included Basa Air Base National High School (BABHS) in Floridablanca, Del Carmen National High School (DCNHS) in Lubao, and V. De Castro Elementary School (VDCES) in Santa Rita.
The Memorandum of Agreement signing ceremony took place at DHVSU – Lubao Campus on October 11 with DCNHS, and at Bacolor Campus on October 24 with BABHS and VDCES. The beneficiaries will undergo curriculum-aligned training to produce competent, job-ready, active, and responsible citizens who will help in delivering quality basic education facilities and services through an inclusive education and positive learning environment.
Faculty members of both CHTM and DLC will lead this three-year partnership. Diana D. Ocampo for VDCES, Rowena Pamimtuan for BABHS, and Isaac Ronquillo for DCNHS through the guidance of Ilyn M. Mendoza, Training Coordinator of CHTM.
The project will commence from October 2023 to October 2026 with the support of Dr. Enrique G. Baking, University President; Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice-president for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension; Engr. Rowel Waje, Director of DLC; and Dr. Dynah Soriano, Director of the Training Services Office, Engr. Rhoderick M. Favorito, Director of Extension Services Management Office; and Kathleen Joyce Coronel, Dean of the CHTM.
In addition, Dr. Pamela B. Licup, COE Guidance Associate; Maria Cristina L. Medina, Academic Chairperson of DLC; Bob T. Dayaguit - DLC Extension Coordinator; Santa L. Merle - CHT Extension Coordinator; Mike Haizon M. David - BS Hospitality Management Program Chairperson; and Liezel B. Mallari, TSO Secretary, are also present during the MOA signing ceremonies in support and assistance to the programs.
All training activities will be conducted face-to-face and the sessions will primarily focus on various aspects of hospitality, tourism, and food-related subjects, research, business, information and communication technology proficiency, mental health awareness, financial literacy, gender sensitivity, and development.

To further strengthen the collaboration, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Pampanga Manpower Training Center - Provincial Government of Pampanga held at New Sangguniang Panlalawigan Building, Capitol Compound, Sto.Niño, City of san Fernando, Pampanga on July 6.
The parties involved in the MOA signing have a long-term partnership in terms of exchange and various training modalities and methods towards promoting quality education and innovation, especially in the field of Technical-Vocational education.
Present at the event are the key people behind the agreement. DHVSU was represented by its president, Dr. Enrique G. Baking; Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension (RITE), Dr. Ranie B. Canlas; Director for Training Services Office (TSO), Dr. Dynah D. Soriano; Manager for Competency Assessment Center, Dr. Anabelle F. Hernandez; Manager for Professional Advancement Training Center, Ms. Aileen P. De Leon; Manager for Skills Capability Enhancement Training Center, Ms. Jennifer S. Baluyut; Executive Assistant for Vice President of RITE, Ms. Veata Monina C. Santos; and the admin staff of TSO, Ms. Liezel B. Mallari.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government of Pampanga was represented by Governor Dennis G. Pineda; Atty. Eric O. Ueda, Provincial Director of TESDA Pampanga; Ms. Luningning Y. Vergara, Provincial PESO Manager; and Board Member Rolando “Pol” D. Balingit.

DHVSU faculty members named as Best Presenters at cooperative training
Among the 64 participants coming from the different provinces of the Philippines, Dr. Dynah D. Soriano and Ms. Mharee Joie Shynne P. Gomez have been recognized as the Best Presenters during the Microteaching Session at the Training of Trainers (ToT) for Accredited Cooperative Training Providers (CTPROs). The event, held from September 19 to 22, 2023, at Central Luzon State University, Science City of Muñoz, Nueva Ecija.
The ToT for CTPROs aimed to enhance cooperative education and training in accordance with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) guidelines.
To participate in the event, individuals completed at least a 24-hour ToT program for CTPROs offered by State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
Along with the two awardees, DHVSU was also represented by Ms. Aileen P. De Leon, Mr. Mike Haizon M. David, and Mr. Jose Joseph C. Soriano.
