452 Honorians pass September 2019 licensure examination for teachers

A total of 452 graduates of the Don Honorio Ventura State University successfully passed the September 2019 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) for Elementary and Secondary levels.

Following the Professional Regulation Commission’s official announcement on December 1, the University has garnered a passing rate of 52.24% for first-time takers in the elementary level against the national passing rate of 52.81%. For the secondary level, the University registered a 45.25% passing rate versus the national passing rate of 58.25% for first-time takers. Overall, DHVSU got 37.82 % against the 31.34% national passing rate for the elementary level. In the secondary level, DHVSU listed a passing rate of 32.09% against the 39.69% national passing rate.

Covered in the two-day examination are general education subjects, which include topics in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences, and professional education subjects including The Teaching Profession, Social Dimensions of Education, Principles of Learning, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, Facilitating Learning, Child and Adolescent Development, Assessment of Student Learning, Developmental Reading, Field Study, and Practice Teaching.

The LET results were announced 50 working days after the actual test.
