In line with the university’s commitment to its core values and to achieve opportunities for continuous improvement, the Bacolor-Main and Porac campuses of Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) embarked on the opening programme of the week-long Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) online survey visit for selected programs via Zoom Meetings on August 7, 2023.

The officer-in-charge for the Office of the Executive Vice President and the Office of the Vice President for Administration & Finance, as well as the Concurrent Vice President for Academic Affairs, Engr. Reden M. Hernandez, commenced the event by welcoming distinguished accreditors from various universities in the Philippines.

For the statement of purpose, DHVSU President Dr. Enrique G. Baking expressed his positive outlook that the university is continuously committed to providing quality education to produce globally competitive individuals in the ASEAN region. He also emphasized the importance and relevance of the accreditation process in enhancing the university's standards and educational
eminence.

“For one, it assures the public that the individuals graduated from accredited programs and received quality education. It likewise assures students that accredited programs have met the standards of the profession that they seek to pursue, making them highly employable,” the president said.

Furthermore, Prof. Nestor C. Competente, the Overall Coordinator for Level III Phase 2 of Main Campus, introduced the mechanics for his designated Survey. Subsequently, Dr. Erlinda Jiz De Ortega CNSC, the Overall Coordinator for Level I of Bacolor Campus, presented the AACCUP accreditors from different universities.

Due to technical issues, Ms. Tricia Gayle Bondoc, the Master of Ceremony, introduced the team of Dr. Isidro L. Duran, the Overall Coordinator for Preliminary Survey of Porac Campus, on his behalf.

The five-day online survey visit aims to assess the preparedness of three programs at the main campus and four programs at Porac Campus (DPC) for accreditation.

The three programs from the Bacolor Campus seeking Level I accreditation are as follows:

1. Doctor of Public Administration
2. Master of Arts in Education Major in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Physical Education,
TLE
3. Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

Meanwhile, the four programs subjected to the preliminary survey visit in DPC are the
following:

 Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
 Bachelor of Science in Information Technology
 Bachelor of Elementary Education
 Bachelor of Science in Social Work

Furthermore, the DHVSU local counterparts of the accreditors were introduced by the respective college deans, after which, they invited the accreditors to their respective breakout rooms via Google Meet where they communicated directly to one another until they concluded the opening programme in clusters.

Lastly, as part of the accreditation process, the evaluation of accreditation documents began at 1:00 p.m., which is scheduled until August 11, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. The AACCUP online survey visit is set to continue on August 9, 2023 for the virtual tours to the library, physical plant and facilities, and laboratories.
