DHVSU recognizes employees for excellence in service

To honor excellence in education and service, the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) Programs on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) committee has acknowledged its roster of outstanding teachers and employees for the academic year 2022–2023. The recognition took place during the Virtual Honors and Recognition Day on August 4.

The awardees were selected through a comprehensive evaluation process that assessed their contributions across various areas.

The Teacher of the Year award was determined based on their IPCR rating, instruction, research, extension and training efforts, professional development, innovative ideas (including cost & time-saving innovations), and potential.

Similarly, the Employee of the Year award was granted to individuals with a strong IPCR rating, who participated beyond the scope of regular duties, showed commitment to professional development, demonstrated innovative ideas including cost and time-saving innovations, and maintained exceptional attendance and punctuality.

Among the 16 finalists, the Teacher of the Year award was bestowed upon Michael Angelo F. Bacani from Laboratory High School.

Meanwhile, the Employee of the Year award was presented to Debbie Ann Fatima N. Barrera of the Administrative Services Office's Human Resource Unit, where she stood out among 20 finalists.

DHVSU also celebrated the Coach of the Year recipients across three distinct categories where Dr. Eddiebal P. Layco from the Senior High School secured the Coach of the Year award in the academic category while Rowell E. Cruz was recognized as the Coach of the Year (Cultural Category) by the Office of Culture and the Arts, and Rexan Cunan achieved the Coach of the Year title in the Sports Category, acknowledged by the Office of Sports and Development.
