The designation of the Executive Vice President is confirmed by the DHVSU Board of Regents upon the recommendation of a duly constituted Search Committee and endorsement from the University President.

The Executive Vice President has direct supervision on all vice presidents of the University; he acts and approves purchase requests, purchase orders, or contracts for single transactions amounting to One Million Pesos or less; vehicle trip tickets; applications for study, training, scholarship, thesis or dissertation assistance, and sabbatical leaves; grants of incentives and awards, both monetary and non- monetary forms; settlement of work-related complaints and grievances; applications for leave of absence, rehabilitation leaves; application for flexible work hours and work schedule; requests for voluntary transfer, resignation, and retirement; as well as acts on requests to use University buildings and facilities; assesses and recommends OPCRs and IPCRs in the EVP cluster. The EVP chairs the following committees: Performance Management Team, Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence, and the Institutional Promotion Plan under the updated Faculty Merit System.

The office of the Executive Vice President ensures the timely, accurate, and equitable delivery of services and the provision of programs that shall support the continuous improvement of University operations. The EVP is responsible and committed to the institution’s long-term development plan and takes an active role in leading University efforts toward greater heights guided by its core values of professionalism, good governance, excellence, gender sensitivity and responsiveness, and disaster resiliency.
