“Where Creativity and Innovation Thrive”
The Knowledge Management and Innovation Office (KMIO), was initially established as a research center in 2019 and formally transitioned into an office in 2021, serves as a strategic pillar of the university. It drives the university’s vision for innovation, productivity, and societal impact, functioning as the guiding body for defining and achieving the university's goals, priorities, and long-term strategies in these critical areas.
The KMIO envision to position DHVSU as a premier institution in fostering creativity, innovation, and knowledge exchange, where transformative ideas and cutting-edge technologies are developed, protected, and commercialized. The KMIO aims to serve as a catalyst for economic growth, societal advancement, and sustainable development through the creation, application, and dissemination of knowledge and innovative solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute to national and global competitiveness.
As part of its mission, the Office:
- Provides physical space and shared facilities to support business and technology-based research ventures of the university and other stakeholders.
- Offers training and access to information to enable the growth and success of innovative initiatives.
- Creates and furnishes opportunities for the development and commercialization of promising innovative processes, products, and technologies in response to community-driven needs and industry demands.
- Evaluates patentability and provides assistance in the application for intellectual property rights to safeguard and promote the university’s inventions.
- Supports the integration of sustainable practices across the university’s operations, research endeavors, and partnerships to ensure alignment with global sustainability goals.
