As a higher educational institution, the University has achieved a great deal since its foundation in 1861. As the oldest vocational school not only in the country but in the whole Far East, it has constantly strived to develop an educated, empowered, and economically – productive Filipino citizenry through innovative, responsive, and globally competitive programs embracing theory and practice.

The institution is focused on producing graduates who are ready for both national and international opportunities through the realization of its vision of a learner- centered community that encourages the intellectual development and transformation of students into ethical leaders, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.

In the years ahead, the University is foreseen to be one of the leading University in the Southeast Asian Region as it continues to nurture individuals who possess the foundations for learning throughout life, the competence to engage in gainful work and be productive, and the values and abilities to coexist in prolific harmony with local and global communities.

We yearn to realize this aspiration through the continuous upgrading of instruction; enhancement of access to quality education; intensification of knowledge- generation; improvement of organizational efficiency; enrichment of organizational governance; provision of modern facilities and state-of-the-art equipment; promotion of social responsibility through extension, manpower and skills development training and community outreach services; and the establishment of consortia and other forms of linkages with local and foreign institutions.
