DHVSU lands 20th in PH, 640th in UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024

The Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) is going green and global!

In its first attempt, DHVSU has successfully attained 20th place in the Philippines and 640th place globally among 1,477 institutions across 95 countries in the 15th edition of the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2024, ranking 15th among the Philippine state universities and colleges that participated.

“This is a result of the challenge of Dr. Lora Yusi, CHEDRO III Director, to all University/College Presidents and their International Directors in the region during the Central Luzon Higher Education Internationalization Conference 2024 to join international rankings,” said Dr. Mildred Crisostomo, Director of the Office of International Partnerships and Programs (OIPP).

She added that DHVSU's response was quick, with Dr. Enrique G. Baking, University President, demonstrating a commitment to excellence.

Along with Engr. Reden M. Hernandez, OIC-Executive Vice President, Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension, and Dr. Dolores Quiambao, teams were formed to focus on meeting the various international ranking requirements.

The OIPP organized mentoring sessions attended by administrative council members, international ranking leads and co-leads, and committee members, with Dr. Yuri Walter Akiate appointed as the focal person for the collection of documents for the UI GreenMetric Rankings.

Through the support of Atty. Lily Freida Macabangun-Milla, Director of the Commission on Higher Education - International Affairs Services and one of the mentors of DHVSU, the UI GreenMetric result for DHVSU is a testament to the University's commitment to excellence.

The UI GreenMetric developed a global university ranking system dedicated to assessing institutions' sustainability performance through an online survey that evaluates global universities' efforts and policies, including prioritizing climate change, clean energy, conservation, recycling, green transportation, and sustainability education.

Congratulations, DHVSU!
