The Office of Culture and the Arts is centered in nurturing Cultural Heritage, inculcating exceptional Filipino Values through traditions and innovations and developing students’ talents and discipline in Literature, Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Theater, and other emerging art forms through face-to-face and online activities.
Objectives
- Establish a climate of cultural awareness across all colleges and campuses of the University;
- Enhance students’ sense of nationalism and patriotism through active involvement and participation in various cultural activities, celebrations and representations;
- Develop among students, “Potential Cultural Artistry” through regular face-to- face or online workshops, trainings, performances, recitals and art exhibits;
- Recognize outstanding achievements in the field of arts and culture amplifying academic excellence as a result of the students’ continuous active membership in the various official art groups of the university through a “Reward System”; through Financial and Grade Incentives or Subject Equivalency/ Credits.
Services
- Provides continuous face-to-face / online capability building activities and trainings for faculty-designated art coordinators, museum head, researchers and personnel and official student leaders and members of the university art groups;
- Maintains local, regional, national and International Cultural Linkages;
- Produces avenues and channels to showcase the various talents of potential students in Culture and the Arts through face-to-face or virtual stage performances and art exhibits;
- Awards due recognition to Student Artists for outstanding achievements in Culture and the Arts;
- Recommends active student participation in various face-to-face and online local, regional, national and international competitions in Culture and the Arts; and
- Secures and guarantees responsible participation with regards to on-line streaming of video performances and artworks in strict compliance to the Data Privacy and Copyright Laws.
