Proving their excellence and expertise in culinary skills, three students from the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management at DHVSU secured first place at the Kusinero’t Kusinerang Kapampangan Kurang-Kurangan Kapaskuhan 2023: An Inter-Town Cooking Competition held at Robinsons Starmills, Pampanga on December 5.
Jayvee D. Rubiano, Casey C. Andes, and Armand Guevarra, guided by their skilled coaches—Mr. Mike Haizon M. David, Ms. Ilyn M. Mendoza, and Mr. Glenn Abutan—impressed the judges with their dish "Asadong Ning Bacolor at Tamales de Manok king Gisang Gule ampo Sapin-sapin Patatas.”
The winning dish was described as a sumptuous fusion of “asadong dila” thickened with Saniculas cookies and chicken de tamales served with buttered vegetables and layered potato.
The culinary showdown featured dishes and specialties from different towns of Pampanga, prepared by school representatives.
In another event, Kyla Cammille B. Dela Cruz and Joshua G. Carbungco, along with their coaches Mr. Mike Haizon M. David, Mr. Alfer S. Sanchez, Ms. Diana D. Ocampo, and Ms. Rowena L. Pamintuan, also represented DHVSU at the 1st Manyaman Festival held at the Capitol Grounds, City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
