Among the seven Filipino students, Christian Louie C. Simon, a fourth-year Honorian from the College of Education (COE), was awarded by the International Organization for Health, Sports, and Kinesiology (IOHSK) as one of the recipients of Dr. Thomas L. McKenzie International Student Scholarship on November 20, held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST), Manila.

In an interview with The Industrialist, Simon, who is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) at DHVSU, shared how his motivation to apply for the scholarship was rooted in the trust he received from his professor and thesis adviser, Mr. Julius Ceazar G. Tolentino, who also introduced him to the IOHSK.

"Knowing that the selection is quite competitive for it follows criteria, I am bringing everything back to the Lord and forever be grateful to Him," Simon added, expressing his joy for being selected.

Looking ahead, Simon outlined his commitment to personal and professional growth, saying, "As a future educator, I would carry the torch of knowledge up high to light others' paths and make them visible as much as I can."

Notably, the IOHSK scholarship recognizes not only academic excellence but also the potential of students to make a positive impact in their chosen fields.
