09262024 DHVSU employees receive free pneumonia HPV vaccines

As part of the celebration of the 2024 Medicine Week, the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) became the beneficiary of the Pampanga Medical Society’s (PMS) free pneumonia and Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination program held at the University Clinic on September 25-26, 2024.

“Nakita ko na maraming may problema sa pag-ubo at may comorbid na pasyente dito [sa DHVSU] na sa mga everyday na nagco-consult sa akin kaya dapat may proteksyon talaga sila from pneumonia. Ikalawa, itong sa mga babae naman para sa cervical cancer kasi ngayon it is the second cause of death among women in the Philippines kaya in-advocate talaga namin ‘yan,” Dr. Reynaldo Alipio S. Alipio, President of PMS and DHVSU Physician.

Spearheaded by the Office for Student Welfare and Formation (OSWF), led by Director Plato B. Mercado, through the Health Services Unit, the two-day vaccination activity was conducted in partnership with the PMS and the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society Foundation, Inc.

More than 300 eligible teaching and non-teaching staff voluntarily lined up to avail themselves of the campus-based immunization.
