To ensure cooperation in the prompt, timely, fee-free, and efficient delivery of full-cycle employment facilitation services, the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)Central Luzon on October 11, 2024
The DHVSU team, led by its University President Dr. Enrique G. Baking, warmly welcomed DOLE Central Luzon Director Geraldine M. Panlilio to her office at DOLE-Central Luzon, located in Maimpis, San Fernando, Pampanga.
One of the responsibilities of DHVSU, as per the MOA, is to provide fee-free services as a Job Placement Office (JPO) – Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to its members and individuals in the community, in coordination with the Local Government Unit – PESO within its area.
Meanwhile, DOLE-Central Luzon will primarily provide policy directions and prescribe standards on employment services, such as skills mapping, career development support services, labor market information, and the determination of livelihood and self- employment interests.
“Trabaho para sa bayan [ang] programa na isang nakikita [namin]. P’wede rin po tayong magkaroon ng enterprise-based training na kung saan p’wede tayong makipag-tie up talagang ready na silang magtrabaho [graduates],”Director Geraldine said.
Along with Director Geraldine are Ms. May Lyn C. Gozum, Provincial Head of DOLE Pampanga, and Ms. Aurita L. Laxamana, Technical Support and Services Officer of the Division for Employment and Welfare.
Present as representatives of DHVSU during the MOA signing are Dr. Ranie B. Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training & Extension, concurrent OIC-Director of the Procurement Management Office, Executive Assistant to the President, and acting University and Board Secretary; Dr. Riza B. Lintag, Dean of the College of Education; Mr. Plato B. Mercado, Director of the Office of Student Welfare and Formation; and Ms. Kathleya Vianca P. Habon, OIC-Director of the Public Relations and Industry Linkages Office.
