In another historic milestone for Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), the Aurelio Gonzales City of San Fernando Extension Campus (SFC) was officially launched and inaugurated and awarded three Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) on March 27, 2025.

The eighth DHVSU campus, situated in Brgy. Malino, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, offers three programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Marketing Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, and Bachelor of Public Administration.

“For the longest time, having a DHVSU campus in the City of San Fernando was just a dream,” said Dr. Enrique Baking, University President.

Dr. Baking also recalled the humble beginnings of the university, emphasizing that this newly built campus is an investment in the future, providing free education for aspiring college students in the City of San Fernando and its nearby municipalities.

“In the near future, households near the campus will have professionals or additional professionals in their families, for DHVSU-SFC is not just a momentary relief from poverty and ignorance but a lifelong antidote to them,” he added.

The ceremonies were witnessed and attended by the DHVSU Administrative Council, led by Dr. Enrique Baking; Dr. Maria Anna David-Cruz, OIC-Director of DHVSU SFC; Dr. Efren Abulencia, Education Program Supervisor II of CHED-Regional Office 3; Hon. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Senior Deputy Speaker of the 19th Congress and Representative of the Pampanga Third District, along with his wife, Michaeline Gonzales; Hon. Mica Gonzales, Board Member of Pampanga’s Third District; and Hon. Brenz Gonzales, Councilor of the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.

“To the students [of SFC], this campus represents much more than classrooms and lecture halls... Strive for excellence in all your endeavors and remember that education is the key to unlocking your full potential,” Hon. Dong Gonzales stated in his inaugural speech.

During the event, the Gonzales family also officially turned over the land title of SFC to DHVSU.
