To facilitate learning and enhance the writing and numeracy skills of ALS students while promoting awareness of health and nutrition, Don Honorio Ventura State University – Porac Campus (DPC) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) sealed a partnership with Alternative Learning System (ALS) Porac West District on November 17.
The collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the CareAwareness-Service: An ALS Uplifting Project (CASAUP) Extension Program that aims to address the educational needs of ALS students, many of whom have not undergone formal schooling.
The MOA signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Dennis V. Dizon, DPC Campus Director; Dr. Adonis A. David, Dean of CAS; Dr. Dean B. Lapuz, Center Manager for Extension Office; and Dr. Ednalyn V. Lansangan, ALS Principal-In-Charge.
The event was also participated by Dr. Myla L. Isip, Academic Chair of DPC; Mr. Cailvin D. Reyes and Mrs. Leila C. Cortez, the project leaders; and faculty members from DPC, CAS, and ALS, who will play distinct roles in the CASAUP Program.
Additionally, Ms. Vielka Roque and Mrs. Luz L. Lozano, Filipino Teachers, kicked-off the CASAUP by serving as the resource speakers of the initial sessions.
