The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 3 celebrated the grand launching of the very first issues of the Central Luzon Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (CL SWDL-Net) Philippine Journal of Social Welfare and Research Development (PhilsJSWRD) at the Greene Manor Condotel, City of San Fernando, Pampanga last November 29.

Dr. Dynah Soriano, Managing Editor of the CL SWDL-Net Editorial Board and DHVSU’s Training Services Office Director, expressed gratitude for the project, born out of the passion and commitment of contributors, researchers, the editorial team, and peer reviewers who trusted the PhilsJSWRD.

“Our goal is to make sure that our readers are given research-based insights to current social issues and data driven recommended solutions to each one. This is the first of the many journals that you can expect from us,” Soriano stated in her editor’s note.

Dr. Soriano, along with Aileen De Leon and Grace Sandico, both instructors at DHVSU, was also part of the editorial team.

The program was attended by key individuals from DSWD Field Office 3 and CL SWDL-Net, including Maribel M. Blanco, Assistant Regional Director for Administration; Dr. Elena C. Tesoro, Overall Chairperson, Central Luzon SWD Learning Network; Ronnel T. Golimlim, Overall Vice-Chairperson, Central Luzon SWD Learning Network; Melanie P. Tolentino of Central Luzon State University; Dr. Emmanuel Bagtas, Assistant Managing Editor of CL SWDL-Net Editorial Board; Dr. Adrian Bon B. Santiago, Editorial Board Member - CL SWDL-Net Editorial Board; Dir. Justin Caesar Anthony D. Batocabe, Director IV, Social Welfare Institutional Development Bureau; and Atty. Vivian T. Dabu, Executive Director, Kapampangan Manalakaran, Inc.

The event included the presentation of authors, featuring research from various universities, including Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU).
