In line with the celebration of National Women's Month 2024, the Office for International Partnerships and Programs (OIPP) launched two virtual orientations with the theme "Worthy Opportunities, Meaningful Engagements and Networking (WOMEN): Virtual Orientation on Student Teaching and OJT Abroad" dated March 05 (5PM) and 13 (1PM) respectively via Google Meet Platform.

The first part of the virtual event is an orientation about student teaching in Thailand in which two (2) alumnae from the university were invited to share their experience during their application and employment abroad. Ms. Irhie Lansangan and Ms. Mar April Bona are both from the College of Education in Mexico and Porac Campuses respectively. They are currently teachers of English in Thailand where they also conducted their Practice Teaching program.

Select students from the Bachelor in Secondary Education major in English from DHVSU College of Education (Main) and Mexico campus attended the said event.

The second part is a virtual orientation about industry OJT in Malaysia in which Engr. Ener Tiongson, one of the successful alumni of the university and now working as a QA Manager in AME Manufacturing in Malaysia shared his experience abroad and provided an overview of the possible perks of being an OJT student in Malaysia.

During the second part of the orientation, select students from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) attended the said online program.

On both occasions, Ms. Crystal Rio Manuel, the Vocational Placement Coordinator III, discussed the outbound requirements for students' OJT, Practicum and Student Teaching. Likewise, Mr. Rodel T. Alimurong, the Program Head of International Practicum for Students, provided an overview of the international requirements and procedure for such undertaking.

VP Dolores T. Quiambao, the University GAD Focal Person, Dr. Beneigno P. Legamia, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology, expressed their outmost support and highlighted the significance of the undertakings in inspiring the students acquire worthwhile learning experience abroad. Moreover, VP Quiambao commended the acrostics of WOMAN that highlights one of the main goals of the office which is to draw attention to the significant contributions of women in the society.

Further, Dr. Mildred M. Crisostomo, Director of the Office for International Partnerships and Programs, stated the ultimate purpose of the event in mobilizing students and faculty and encouraging them to explore international opportunities thus making them global citizens.

These virtual events have been initiated by the Office for International Partnerships and Programs headed by Dr. Crisostomo.
