In a significant step toward advancing digital literacy, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) through its Training Services Office (TSO) solidified its partnership with the Break the Fake Movement (BTFM) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding held at the University Learning Resource Center on March 4, 2026.

The agreement establishes a framework for implementing the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ready Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Programme, a regional initiative led by the ASEAN Foundation with the support from Google.org. The program aims to strengthen AI literacy across all ten ASEAN Member States.

Highlighting the urgency of the initiative, TSO Director Dr. Dynah D. Soriano noted that this partnership is a proactive move toward building a more discerning and informed academic community.

“In an era where information is abundant but not always accurate, our mission to deliver a training program on AI Literacy is more critical than ever. By joining forces with BTFM, we aim to equip our trainers and students with essential tools to navigate the digital landscape with integrity,” said Dr. Soriano.

To achieve these goals, the partnership will execute an awareness raising campaign on AI through Hour of Code sessions and AI Class ASEAN modules.  

Five master trainers from the College of Computing Studies (CCS), the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), and Pampanga State U Mexico Campus have been nominated to lead these sessions.

Pampanga State U was represented by the TSO team led by Dr. Soriano, together with TSO Center Managers, Aileen P. De Leon, Jennifer S. Baluyut, Dr. Anabelle F. Hernandez and other TSO staff, along with Philip I. Doctor, OIC CCS Dean, Engr. Jun P. Flores, CEA Dean, and Mark Jameson Perez, Academic Chairperson Mexico Campus.

Meanwhile, BTFM was represented by Paolo Miguel M. Ordonio, Executive Director.
