Nine students from the Senior High School Department (SHS) of the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) bagged awards for the university from the Asianrope Olympiad and the Philippine International Math and Science Olympiad (PIMSO), which were held on June 11 and September 10.
Among the awardees is the silver medalist, Jaypee Diwa, who showcased his math and science prowess. When asked in an interview with The Industrialist, the silver awardee shared how he managed to survive the competition with a flying color despite countless responsibilities.
"Sharing my thoughts with other people and talking to God also helped me in many ways," Diwa explained as he spoke about being patient with their milestones and learning to value oneself.
Meanwhile, the proud coach since 2012, Dr. Eddiebal P. Layco, highlighted the significance of being positive, supportive, and goal-oriented as his best traits in teaching his students.
"I motivate them via awards and incentives that they will receive whenever they win competitions,” Layco added.
