To facilitate collaboration in identifying the needs and vulnerabilities faced by underprivileged communities, the City Government of San Fernando - Pampanga, through its City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) in a ceremony held in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, on February 17, 2025.
The project was called 'Kayabe Makiagum King Panyulung ning Komunidad,' which aimed to involve individuals and families within the communities in creating opportunities that would result in positive social transformation and enhance the quality of life for the Fernandinos. This agreement aims to develop and institutionalize research and community development initiatives through the College of Social Science and Philosophy (CSSP) of DHVSU to combat poverty and encourage community empowerment.
During the MOA signing, DHVSU representatives included Engr. Rhoderick M. Favorito, Extension Services Office (ESO) Director; Dr. Dynah Soriano, Training Services Office (TSO) Director; Dr. Nelly N. Pilao, Dean of CSSP; Dr. Maria Anna David-Cruz, OIC-Director of DHVSU-San Fernando Annex Campus; and the center managers of ESO and TSO.
On the other hand, CSWDO was represented by Aileen C. Villanueva, CSWDO Officer; while Engr. Michael Quizon, Acting City Administrator of LGU City of San Fernando, Pampanga, and Dr. Melanie O. Junio, Director of the Research and Extension Services Unit, were also present.
