Demonstrating community support and engagement, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), through its Office of Admissions, Counseling, and Testing Services (OACTS), took part in the Brigada Eskwela program of Bacolor Integrated School (BIS) by donating school supplies during the Kick-off Ceremony held on June 9, 2025, in Bacolor, Pampanga.
The donation of 4,982 pencils and 56 sharpeners, voluntarily given by examinees after taking the University Admission Test 2025, was collected for distribution.
“The initiative started last year, noong napansin namin na may mga pencils na naiiwan sa desks after the exam. Then after some computation kung gaano karami ang mga mage-exam per year, naisip namin na gawin ‘yon bilang service sa ating community dito sa Bacolor,” said OACTS Director Richard Briones in an interview.
Briones also expressed his hopes that the initiative will continue in the coming years, with plans to include a wider range of school supplies to better meet the needs of students and schools in the community.
The OACTS team, led by Briones and composed of staff from various units, was warmly received by the BIS community, headed by School Principal Fe G. Bognot.
