As Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) gathered for the 2024 Year-End Assembly, the Honorian community paid tribute to its retired employees and administrators, celebrating their decades of service and contributions to the University’s success, during an event held at the Dr. Ernesto Nicdao Sports Center on December 20, 2024.
“We look forward to have many more happenings like this,” Dr. Adoracio Rubio, one of the former Vice President of Academic Affais (VPAA) said in an interview.
Reflecting on the event, the 87-year-old former VPAA Rubio shared her gratitude for the university’s progress, where she also mentioned that it is heartwarming to be together again with her former colleagues and the present administration.
Furthermore, Dr. Laura Miriam Buenviaje, also a former VPAA who dedicated 41 years to DHVSU, expressed her gratitude to the Honorian community.
“Masayang masaya kami to be back at DHVSU. Actually, ako, ngayon lang ako bumalik ulit since I retire. Kaya I am very happy to see na napaka-asenso ng DHVSU ngayon... ‘Yung administration ngayon magaling silang magdala at napakasipag at grateful din sila for their former administrators kaya I am happy to be back here,”Dr. Bueviaje shared.
The event also highlighted DHVSU's thanksgiving celebration for its achievements over the past year and recognized how everyone contributed to the institution's success.
“Find this event as the best opportune time to convey my profound gratitude for the significant contributions of each one of you. We accomplished innumerable achievements and feats due to your unwavering support and assistance,” Dr. Enrique G. Baking, DHVSU president, stated in his message.
Dr. Baking also encouraged every attendee to give a round of applause to all Honorians for their good work and a job well done.
The year-end assembly was attended by all employees of DHVSU and organized by the DHVSU Faculty Association (DHVSU-FA), headed by Ms. Mariefel Capili, DHVSU-FA President, and the Non-Academic Staff Association, headed by Dr. Philip Rafael Malate, NASA President.
