One with the ASEAN in the celebration of the 57th ASEAN Founding Anniversary with the theme "Connected and Resilient Community", highlighting the whole-of-community approach to collaborate and not to compete, and addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, the Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) inaugurated the ASEAN Festival 2024 on August 27, 2024, via Zoom.
Anchored on Sustainable Development Goal No. 17 or Partnership for Goals, this grand festival is a collaborative endeavor with several State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Colleges and Universities (LUCs), including Tarlac Agricultural University, Ifugao State University, Pampanga State Agricultural University, Bulacan Agricultural State College, Aurora State College of Technology, City College of San Fernando, and Guagua Community College.
With the theme “When ASEAN Meets SDGs Twice,” various contests will be held simultaneously, such as Digital Arts, ASEAN Indigenous Dance, Photography, Free Speech, ASEAN Booth Design, ASEAN Cooking Demo, and Innovative Research.
On September 17, DHVSU will also host the face-to-face culminating program of all the activities and contests, Awarding Ceremonies, and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing with the seven (7) collaborating institutions.
This program is an initiative of the Office for International Partnerships and Programs (OIPP), headed by Director Dr. Mildred M. Crisostomo, with Office of Culture and the Arts, College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and the Architecture Department of the College of Engineering and Architecture.
