To enhance the action research capabilities of Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) teachers in basic education, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), through its College of Education (COE) and Extension Services Office (ESO), collaborated with Pampanga High School (PHS) by signing an agreement held at the PHS campus on November 28, 2024.
This partnership marked the official launch of Project START (Strengthening Teachers' Action Research Techniques), which aims to improve the teaching practices, research skills, and professional growth of MAPEH educators.
DHVSU was represented by Dr. Riza Lintag, COE dean; Mr. Julius Ceazar Tolentino, Chairperson of the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, and Bachelor of Science in Sports Sciences programs; Ms. Mary Chantelle Carlos, Unit Head of the Institute of Physical Education; Ms. Florenda Ibasco, COE extension coordinator, and Ms. Eloisa Mendoza, who represented Engr. Rhoderick Favorito, ESO director, during the signing of MOA.
As a kick-off to the collaboration, Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) instructors, including Ms. Luwy Valenzuela and Ms. Paula Mae Fernandez, presented an overview of action research and shared sample papers with the participants.
During the event, the DHVSU team was welcomed by the PHS community, led by Assistant School Principal Loida Maglanque, who represented School Principal Richard Agustin, and MAPEH Department Head Teacher Mark David Jaime.
