To support the mental well-being of the 5th Fighter Wing pilots at Basa Air Base, Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU), through its Counseling and Testing Center (CTC) and College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), organized a Psychological First Aid session for 55 jet fighter pilots and 28 crew members at Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga, on March 26, 2025.
The Basa Air Base Officers Ladies Club (BABOLC) sought DHVSU’s expertise to provide essential psychological support, recognizing the importance of timely mental health care in fostering resilience among pilots, crew members, and the broader air base community.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to DHVSU and BABOLC for their support and invaluable contributions,” the 5th Fighter Wing, Air Defense Command, posted on their official Facebook page.
Led by Director Richard Briones of the Office of Admissions, Counseling, and Testing Services, DHVSU deployed 11 mental health professionals from CTC and CSSP to address the psychological needs of the Basa Air Base community.
The initiative provided pilots with a safe space to reflect, share experiences, and receive professional guidance.
