Twelve University Student Council (USC) leaders from Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) showcased their commitment to sustainable communities at the 10th Philippines I Transform! Young Leaders Convention (PITYLC), held at Teachers Camp in Baguio City from August 17 to 22.
Aligned with the theme, "A Decade of Action: Championing Sustainable Communities," the convention provided a platform for young leaders to be influenced and empowered, fostering collaborative thinking, working, and action. This engagement aimed to make them active stakeholders in advocating for and localizing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Christopher Ivan Malit, an outgoing USC Senator majoring in BS Architecture with a focus on Student Services, made his mark by securing third place in the poster-making category.
Additionally, former Chief of Staff for Records, Research and Legal Affairs Carlito Tolentino represented DHVSU in the essay writing category, while outgoing USC Senator on Finance Mary Joy Nala participated in the photo advocacy category.
DHVSU's delegation, led by Dr. Gloria B. Gigante, Director of the Office of Student Affairs, along with University Student Council Advisers Christopher Sicat and Hilene Hernandez, demonstrated their commitment to nurturing transformative leaders by actively participating in various activities and plenaries throughout the convention.
