Fukuoka City, Japan – Four representatives from Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) participated in the Fifth International Workshop on Interdisciplinary Sciences, hosted by Kyushu University (KU), on September 14 and 15.

This gathering aimed to explore potential collaborations in academic, research, and faculty development between researchers from both institutions.

The DHVSU delegation included Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension; Engr. Jun Flores, Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA); Engr. Mary Anne Sahagun, Associate Professor of Electronics and Communications Engineering Department; and Dr. Ethelbert Dapiton, a graduate school professor.

Delegates had an immersive visit to the Laboratory of Mathematical Modeling in the Faculty of Agriculture at KU, with the primary goal of identifying opportunities for advanced professional training and research capabilities, initially for DHVSU – CEA where one of its faculty members was selected as a resource person for the conference

Furthermore, the conference aimed to explore potential partnerships with the host institution that would support DHVSU’s mandate of providing advanced instruction and professional training in education, engineering, science and technology, arts and humanities, computer science, and other relevant fields of study both in undergraduate and graduate studies, along with research, extension, and production services.

KU is a leading research-oriented institution of higher education that seeks to expand its international collaborations and connections with other educational institutions.
