As part of building an inclusive talent ecosystem in the Philippines, Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc. signed a partnership agreement with Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) and Bulacan State University (BulSU) during the Huawei Educators' Summit, held at Huawei PH Headquarters in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, on October 22, 2024.
The provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement involve establishing the Huawei ICT Academy Program, which includes certification programs, training-of-trainers initiatives, and the provision of free training and materials to the university grantees.
Under this MOA, the Huawei ICT Academy Program, commencing in August 2024 and concluding in August 2026, will offer diverse courses through flexible teaching methods and mastery of cutting-edge technologies to enhance competitiveness in employment.
During the event, DHVSU was represented by Engr. Reden Hernandez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, concurrent OIC-Executive Vice President, and OIC-Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Dynah Soriano, Director of the Training Services Office (TSO); Ms. Aileen De Leon, Manager of the Professional Advancement Center; and Huawei Data Communication Training completers Engr. Mary Anne Sahagun from the College of Engineering and Architecture and Mr. Earl Lawrence Pelayo from the College of Computing Studies.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Hu Weihua, Public Affairs and Communications Director of Huawei Technologies Philippines, Inc., DHVSU President Dr. Enrique G. Baking, and BulSU President Dr. Teody C. San Andres.
