To provide faculty members with improved skills for supervising student theses, the Don Honorio Ventura State University - Research Management Office (RMO) organized a seminar on thesis advising for select disciplines within Humanities, Education, Management, and Social Sciences (HEMSS). The event was held at the University Hostel on July 13.
Led by Dr. Feorillo A. Demetrio III, Executive Director of the Research and Grants Management Office at De La Salle University, as the seminar's resource speaker, the RMO aligned the activity with the priority areas outlined in the University Research Manual.
The seminar covered key topics such as an overview of the research ecosystem, qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as workshops on research problem formulation and methodology.
Participants in the seminar included faculty members from various campuses and colleges, encompassing Apalit Campus, Lubao Campus, Porac Campus, Candaba Campus, Mexico Campus, Sto. Tomas Campus, College of Social Sciences and Philosophy, Graduate School, College of Education, Senior High School, Laboratory High School, College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
“This activity has enlightened me regarding the framework of a research university. I now appreciate the value of collaboration, not only with fellow researchers but also with my students in the realm of research,” said Cailvin Reyes, one of the participants from Porac campus.
