Once again, the Competency Assessment Center of Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) received accreditation from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) following the onsite accreditation inspection held on October 10, 2025.

The inspection aimed to evaluate the university’s readiness and compliance with TESDA’s national competency standards for various qualifications.

The activity was coordinated by Dr. Anabelle F. Hernandez, Assessment Center Manager, Jennifer S. Baluyut, Assistant Assessment Center Manager, and Dr. Dynah D. Soriano, Director of the Training Services Office, with the assistance of Rozen G. Alfonso, Dean of the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), and CIT faculty members, who ensured the proper facilitation of all required documents and materials throughout the evaluation process.

“Prior to the inspection, Pampanga State U reviewed TESDA’s requirements to make sure its facilities, tools, and equipment were aligned with the competency standards. We organized and updated all necessary documents,” said Dr. Hernandez in an interview.

Six qualification areas were inspected and five were found compliant with the prescribed standards, including Dressmaking NC II, Tailoring NC II, Automotive Servicing NC I, Bookkeeping NC III, and Beauty Care (Nail) Services NC II.

Leading the inspection were Ethel Joy P. Lugtu, Focal Person of the Assessment and Certification Office, and Joaina C. Teodoro, along with TESDA-accredited assessors. The team meticulously reviewed the university’s facilities, tools, equipment, and learning resources based on professional guidelines to ensure alignment with TESDA’s quality and competency requirements.

Through this certification, Pampanga State U moves closer to its goal of establishing an accredited Competency Assessment Center that will enhance students’ employability, provide opportunities for skills certification, and contribute to local workforce development.
