To strengthen, promote, and advance academic collaboration in the field of Physical Education (PE), Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U), through its College of Education (COE) and Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) department, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU) in a signing ceremony held at the University Hostel on November 7, 2025.
The partnership aims to enhance the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program through exchanges, curriculum development, benchmarking, and joint activities such as webinars, training, and workshops that foster quality education, research, and leadership in physical education.
Pampanga State U’s Executive Vice President, Engr. Reden M. Hernandez, emphasized in his welcome remarks that the partnership reinforces the university’s vision of developing educators who promote fitness, discipline, and holistic growth toward building a strong and healthy nation.
“As we strengthen our Bachelor of Physical Education Program through this collaboration, we also strengthen our shared vision of producing educators who promote not only physical fitness but also holistic human development, discipline, and leadership — qualities that are essential to building a strong and healthy nation,” said Engr. Hernandez.
Representing Pampanga State U, along with Engr. Hernandez, were Dr. Riza B. Lintag, Dean of the College of Education, BPEd Chairperson Julius Ceazar G. Tolentino, and other COE faculty members.
Meanwhile, DMMMSU was represented by Dr. Nona M. Rivera, Dean of the College of Education, together with Dr. Jocelyn A. Floresca, BPEd Chairperson.
“We recognize that the landscape of education, sport, and movement is changing. As we sign this Memorandum of Understanding today, let us view it not as the end of a process but as the beginning of a journey of institutional growth, student transformation, community impact, and shared excellence in the field of physical education,” said Dr. Rivera.
The collaboration will span five years and will cover various areas of cooperation that will mutually benefit both institutions.
