The University Occupational Safety and Health Office (UOSHO) took significant steps towards building a stronger Filipino well-being and disaster resilience by organizing a four-day training on Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid held at the University Hostel, Multi-purpose Function Hall and CEA Extension Building last July 10 to 13.

The training is a collaboration between the Occupational Safety and Health Office, led by its Director Rhiziel P. Manalese, and the Administrative Services Office, headed by Director Anna C. Dayrit.

With the theme "BIDANG Pilipino: Building a Stronger Filipino Well-being towards Disaster Resilience," UOSHO actively participated in the nationwide celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month this July.

The training aimed to equip participants, including OSHO Focal Persons, Security Personnel, and OSH Volunteers, with essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to confidently perform basic life support techniques and standard first aid.

The comprehensive agenda included lectures and demonstrations on basic life support, standard first aid, bandaging and splinting, and emergency scenarios where the participants engaged in demonstrations to ensure they could effectively handle incidents and casualties.

Through this initiative, UOSHO aims to foster a culture of safety and preparedness in the university, thereby reducing accidents and injuries by equipping university personnel with essential first-aid knowledge.

The facilitators and trainers from the Department of Health Central Luzon Center for Health Development and Pampanga Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) lead the sessions.
