With the Memorandum of Understanding sealed between Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) and the Department of Education - Division of Pampanga (DepEd Pampanga) last July 2024, DHVSU, through its Extension Services Office (ESO), forged a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with four institutions offering the Alternative Learning System (ALS) under DepEd Pampanga on September 27, 2024.
The four institutions, which will be the beneficiaries of the Care-Awareness-Service: An A.L.S Uplifting Project (CASAUP), include ALS Guagua East District, ALS Sta. Rita District, ALS Bacolor South District, and ALS San Luis West Sector.
The extension project is a collaboration between the Extension Services Office (ESO), led by Engr. Rhoderick Favorito, the College of Arts and Sciences, headed by Dr. Adonis David, and the College of Industrial Technology, under the leadership of Dr. Benigno Legamia Jr. Present at the MOA signing as representatives of their respective institutions were the following supervisors:
• Mr. Ruel F. Bondoc - ALS Education Program Supervisor of DepEd Pampanga
• Dr. Emyleen C. Samonte of ALS Guagua East District
• Dr. Emily R. Maninang of ALS Santa Rita District
• Dr. Lolita L. Molano of ALS Bacolor South District
• Dr. Madilyn V. Ayson of ALS San Luis East Sector
Through Project CASAUP, led by project leader Leila Cortez, the needs of Alternative Learning System (ALS) students will be addressed by focusing on developing essential skills in writing and arithmetic, promoting health and nutrition awareness, and providing livelihood training.
