Acknowledging its commitment to excellence, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) officially conferred the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) Regionalization Program - Recognition for Quality Management Level I to Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) on March 26, 2025, at the University Hostel.
“Allow me to congratulate the President [of DHVSU] and all the members involved... The PQA is actually the highest national quality award in the Philippines, given to organizations for performance excellence,” said Dr. Richard Simangan, Assistant Regional Director of DTI- Region 3.
He also challenged DHVSU to strive further and aim to become a national awardee, serving as an inspiration to other institutions.
Along with Dr. Simangan, DTI was represented by Elenita Ordonio, Provincial Director of DTI- Pampanga; Kay Malig, Division Chief; Emil Paolo Galang, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist; and Dr. Niño Corpuz, PQA Assessor and Vice President for Planning and Quality Assurance at Tarlac State University.
The award was received by Dr. Enrique Baking, DHVSU President; Engr. Reden Hernandez, Executive Vice President; Dr. Dolores Quiambao, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services; Dr. Ranie Canlas, Vice President for Research, Innovation, Training, and Extension; Dr. Emmanuel Pareño, Director of the Quality Management and Services Office; Engr. Anna Liza Nacion, Director of the Knowledge Management and Innovation Office; and Dr. Eddiebal Layco, Director of the Planning and Development Office.
"On behalf of the entire DHVSU community, I extend my sincerest appreciation to the DTI, particularly its regional and provincial offices, for their invaluable guidance and steadfast support throughout our journey. Their expertise, encouragement, and commitment to quality serve as a beacon, guiding us in strengthening our institutional processes and governance,” Dr. Baking stated.
Dr. Baking also acknowledged the significant steps DHVSU has taken toward its aspirations, reaffirming its commitment to elevating its standing as a center of excellence in education and research.
