Promoting inclusive safety and security, Pampanga State University (Pampanga State U) conducted an Orientation on Bomb Threat Response for non-teaching personnel at the Dr. Ernesto T. Nicdao Sports Center on September 10, 2025.
The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness, safety awareness, and response capabilities of the University community in the event of a bomb threat or related incidents.
“Anyone can receive a bomb threat, whether through a text or chat message, a phone call, or a written note,” said Rhiziel P. Manalese, Director of the University’s Occupational Safety and Health Office (OSHO).
“Remember, safety is a shared responsibility. By staying alert, following proper protocols, and working together, we can protect ourselves and others while ensuring a swift and effective response to any threat,” she shared.
The Regional Explosives Ordinance Disposal Unit 3 (RECU3) and the Philippine National Police – Explosive Ordinance Disposal and K9 Unit led the discussion, covering protocols for bomb threat response and the corresponding roles and responsibilities.
Speakers included PCPT Jasper D. Tagulao, Team Leader of Pampanga PECU; EOD Technicians PMSg Alexie F. Pando and PMSg Michael Angelo S. Paras; Police Explosive Reconnaissance Course (PERC) graduates PMSg Aris T. Bayaras and PCpl Jay Mark D. Manuel; and K9 Handlers PMSg Jayar Alexis G. Dizon, PSSg Farlie T. Dizon, and PCpl Larry C. Salonga.
The event was organized by the OSHO, in coordination with the Civil Security Unit, contributing to strengthening the University’s reputation as a responsible and prepared institution.
