History
The College of Computing Studies (CCS) traces its roots back to 2004 when the Institute of Engineering and Architecture introduced its first ITE course the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program. This offering aligned with the CHED Memorandum Order No. 25, Series of 2001, which outlined the Revised Policies and Standards for Information Technology Education (ITE). With the launch of the BSIT program, the institute rebranded itself as the Institute of Science and Technology, now known as the College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA).
On December 9, 2009, the transformation of Don Honorio Ventura College of Arts and Trades (DHVCAT) into Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) paved the way for the establishment of the College of Computer Studies (CCS).
Subsequently, the Computer Education Program (CEP), offering a trimestral curriculum under the CCS, was officially launched on November 30, 2010. This initiative was made possible through a pre-termination agreement between DHVTSU and Prince Technology Education, approved under Board Resolution No. 78, Series of 2010.
In 2012, the CCS expanded its academic offerings by introducing the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) and the Diploma in Computer Technician (DCT) programs through the trimestral format of the Computer Education Program (CEP).
Afterwards, in 2015, the College gained approval to offer two additional programs: Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) and Bachelor of Science in Information Systems(BSIS). To reflect the diverse range of disciplines offered by the institution, from College of Computer Studies was renamed to College to the College of Computing Studies.
Since its establishment in 2004, the CCS has significantly evolved from being a part of the Institute of Engineering and Architecture to becoming a distinct and thriving academic unit within DHVSU. The College now boasts dedicated and elite faculty members specializing in the different field of Information and Communication Technology Education, alongside servicing faculty handling courses in Social Sciences, Mathematics and Languages.
