The establishment of the Don Honorio Ventura State University School of Law (DHVSU SOL) underscores the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its mission to expand educational opportunities in Central Luzon.

On January 3, 2019, a pivotal moment in the university’s history unfolded when President Rodrigo Roa Duterte signed Republic Act No. 11169 into law. This landmark legislation not only renamed Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) to Don Honorio Ventura State University (DHVSU) but also authorized the inclusion of law studies as part of its expanded curricular offerings.

In line with this legislative mandate, DHVSU took a significant leap forward in 2021 with the establishment of the School of Law. The creation of the School was unanimously approved by the DHVSU Board of Regents, culminating in the launch of the Juris Doctor (JD) Program. At the helm of this milestone was the late Atty. David Robert C. Aquino, whose visionary leadership as the founding dean laid a strong foundation for the School’s development and future success.

The journey of DHVSU SOL reached another critical milestone in February 2022, when the Legal Education Board (LEB) granted first-level accreditation to the JD Program. This accreditation allowed the School of Law to officially begin operations, and by August 2022, the School proudly welcomed its pioneer batch of aspiring legal professionals. This marked the beginning of a transformative journey to produce competent, ethical, and community-oriented lawyers who will serve the nation with integrity and dedication.
