Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Management

The Doctor of Education in Educational Management is designed for the advance student who aspires to top level administrative position and who wishes to achieve a superior level of competency in the exercise leadership roles in educational policy formulation and management. The program provides an understanding of sound educational foundation and the application of research to practice.

 

Doctor of Public Administration

The Doctor of Public Administration is a research-oriented program that provides knowledge and skills on the basic problems and processes involved in the Philippine public administration. The program includes topics in the foundations of public administration and good governance. It aims to produce graduates who are ready to serve as ethical, accountable and critical leaders in the public sector and in academic institutes. The program aims: to apply the theoretical literature appropriately to issues commonly addressed in public administration and related public affairs disciplines; to assess and critique the analytic techniques and conclusions of scholarly articles and practitioner communications on public management and public policy; to prepare and produce high-quality independent research and analysis of real world phenomena in the governmental and/or the non-profit sector that will contribute to the body of knowledge about public management and public policy.

 

Master of Arts in Education

The Master of Arts in Education prepares individuals for the broad spectrum of educational positions and roles in the field of education. It equips education students for the various administrative and supervisory positions in elementary, secondary, post-secondary and vocational programs.

Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management

The Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management (MAED-EM) is a competency oriented graduate program which prepares educators and would-be-school administrators with functional philosophies, theories, research-based management with emphasis on administration and supervision of schools. It also allows students to explore the theoretical and practical aspects of curriculum development, supervision of instruction and school activities and educational legislations which will transform them to become highly skilled, globally responsive, educational managers/leaders and instructional specialist.

 

Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics

The Master of Arts in Education Major in Mathematics is a demand-driven graduate education program owing to the fact that the institution is a renowned institution, thus, the graduate program is designed in pursuit of high-end discipline strongly anchored on the undergraduate Mathematics programs and relevant experiences of the institution’s clientele in response to the educational development demand particularly of the region and in general promotes the national sustainable development thrusts. The program is a complement to the current graduate programs of DHVSU geared towards global competitiveness through enhanced quality, efficiency and effectiveness. The Master of Arts in Mathematics program is intended for teachers of mathematics courses which include non-mathematics majors whose undergraduate preparation may or not really a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree, but of related discipline such as students of business administration, economics, engineering, the social science, etc. The program likewise prepares prospective school administrators in the broad spectrum of educational milieu as regards to position and roles they play in the field of education in various levels including the technical and vocational programs.

 

Master of Arts in Education Major in Technology and Livelihood Education

The Master of Arts in Education major in Technology and Livelihood Education aims to produce highly competent professionals who can:

  • Develop insights and higher order thinking skills and apply effective management strategies in organization;
  • Develop competence in the implementation of the program in their respective schools;
  • Recognize, understand, analyze the complexity of program as implemented in the school as far as the changes and developments is concerned; and
  • Emerge from major changes with realistic ideas about how they make use of their knowledge, skills, and values in the occupational pursuits in a variety of settings.

 

Master of Arts in Education Major in Physical Education

The Master of Arts in Education Major in Physical Education aims to:

  • To provide a deep understanding of the principles, concepts, and skills in physical education in schools.
  • To equip with advanced scientific and applied training in sports and wellness, instructional materials development and pedagogical skills in physical education.
  • To enhance competencies by providing opportunities and involvement in the community through physical education programs.

 

Master of Arts in Education Major in Filipino

The Master of Arts in Education Major in Filipino is a demand-response driven program addressing the pressing needs brought about by Republic Act 10533: An Act Enhancing the Philippine Basic Education System otherwise known as the “Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013′′ also known as K to 12 or the Enhanced Basic Education Curriculum, by honing up the competence and pedagogical skills of teachers, school administrators and education program supervisors in the field of Filipino as a subject. The program Master of Arts in Education Major in Filipino is conceived for teachers of the Filipino language, school administrators, education supervisors and those who desires to upgrade their knowledge in the Filipino Language particularly in linguistics or grammar and in literature.

 

Master of Arts in Education Major in English

The Master of Arts in Education major in English prepares individuals for the broad spectrum of educational positions and roles in the field of English education. With its challenging and innovative curriculum, taught by outstanding faculty, it prepares education students for the various administrative and supervisory positions in elementary, secondary, post-secondary and vocational programs.

Specifically, it aims to:

  • update and enrich classroom teachers’ content knowledge in English;
  • enhance and expand classroom teachers’ pedagogical knowledge and skills for teaching English;
  • improve classroom teachers’ efficacy in producing innovative and creative instructional programs or materials that will improve the teaching-learning process, and
  • to conduct relevant researches for the improvement of the teaching-learning process

 

Master of Arts in Education Major in General Science

The Master of Arts in Education major in General Science is a demand driven graduate education program designed to equip science teachers with the broad spectrum of knowledge, scientific skills and pedagogical capacities in the fields of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and other Integrated Sciences. The program responses to the demands of the prevailing spiral progression designed science curriculum of the basic education level and high-quality standards of science courses in higher education by honing up the competence and pedagogical skills of science teachers. The program compliments to the graduate programs of DHVSU geared towards global competitiveness through interconnectivity between quality instructions, research, service, and productivity.

 

Master of Science in Social Work

The Master of Science in Social work aims to prepare the students to assume leadership roles in various fields in the practice of social welfare and social development work. Specifically, it aspires that the students of this program will be able to:

  • Enhance leadership skills in the practice of the profession;
  • Equip them with knowledge to further promote effective implementation of social welfare programs; and
  • Develop the Social workers’ sustainable contribution in promoting development work

 

Master in Public Administration

Master in Public Administration is a graduate program designed to equip students with administrative and management concepts and theories useful in formulating solutions to problems
associated with public and non-profit administration. It also aims to enhance students’ research capability in the areas of public administration, policy formulation and analysis, development
management, budgeting and financial resource management, human resource development and contemporary issues in public affairs management.

Students under the MPA program are exposed to current issues in public administration as well as to the practical application of various skills and techniques in the field. The program is inter-disciplinary
drawing from both business and economics.

Plan A (With Thesis) is designed to provide researchers, teachers, and prospective college instructors with the knowledge and research skills in public administration. Students are required to
prepare and defend a thesis.

Plan B (Non-Thesis) aims to provide students with the theoretical background and technical skills needed for the effective implementation of public policy in a developing country. Students under Plan B may choose from the following fields of specialization: public policy and program administration, organization studies, fiscal administration, local government and regional development, voluntary sector management, public enterprise management, and spatial information management.

 

Master of Business Administration

The Master’s Degree in Business Administration is designed to meet the growing demand for trained men and women managers in business and industry. It seeks to develop intellectual leaders with a distinct advantage in their profession, be it industrial, financial, government or non-profit institutions. It is envisioned to provide the business community with competent managers and entrepreneurs responsive to the environmental opportunities and attuned to the expected role of business and management.

Specifically, the MBA Program shall:

  • Develop among the students an understanding of the role and responsibilities of business and society;
  • Develop the students’ attitudes, technical skills and commitment necessary in the business world;
  • Provide the students with the theoretical and practical training of the entire business functionsand the interrelationships;
  • Strengthen the analytic skills of students for problem solving and decision making;
  • Develop in the students an interest in research in business and management; and,
  • Develop in the students an understanding of the role of the computer technology as a strategic business.

 

MBA Non-Thesis Program

is designed for business professionals, practitioners, entrepreneurs, employees in public and private institutions, and senior undergraduate students, regardless of their field of study. This program prepares them for management roles in the fields of Human Resource Management, Strategic Marketing Management, or in Innovation Management. It is designed to develop practitioner-oriented skills that enable would-be managers to contribute to strategic decisions necessary for the organization’s viability and sustainability. This track links theory to practice by analyzing marketing issues from inside an organization. Concepts and processes which involve the development of market -driven strategies, operational knowledge and understanding the marketing functions of an actual organization, and how it interconnects with other functions as well as its impact on the business are the main focus of this track.
